Folk Powys

The Folk Powys workshop programme was developed in partnership with Helen Wilding-Smith, Powys Music Co-ordinator as part of Powys County Council's Children and Young People's Music Strategy which was launched in 2010.

This followed work by TASC in creating a Llandinam Village Band (2007)and a ceilidh band project for Beulah (2009).

It led to two bands been set up - Di Enw meets in the Llandovery/Beulah/Garth area and Monty Folk meet in Montgomery.

Folk Powys was part of TASC's Grow Your Own Tradition Programme which was supported by the Arts Council of Wales and Powys County Council.

This community-based band is now being run independently but with continued support and advice from TASC.
